PROFILE
Jan has extensive experience in representing clients in the areas of taxation, estate planning and business planning. Her practice focuses primarily on tax and estate planning for high net worth individuals, including multi-generational planning and incorporating charitable giving into estate plans.
Jan received her LLM in Taxation in 1990 from the New York University, where she served as a Graduate Editor of the Tax Law Review; and her Juris Doctor in 1989 from the University of Cincinnati where she was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as a Lead Articles Editor of the UC Law Review. She also earned her B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Oklahoma in 1985 with Highest Honors.
In addition to speaking to many groups and organizations about various tax and estate planning topics, Jan has provided in house training on estate planning issues to employees of a national bank, a national insurance company, and a regional brokerage firm.
AFFILIATIONS
Jan is admitted to practice in the State of Ohio. She is also admitted to practice before the United States Tax Court. Jan is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cincinnati Bar Association. She currently serves on the Community Awareness Committee of the Cincinnati Bar Foundation. For many years Jan has served on the Advisory Board or Board of Trustee of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Greater Cincinnati. Prior community service includes membership on the Board of Trustees and various committees for Cincinnati Business and Professional Women, BPW Retirement Living, Inc., The Hillrise Senior Center, and GLAD House. In 1998 Jan was named to the Cincinnati Business Courier list of “Forty Under 40” business and community leaders. In 1993 she was selected by IRS Chief Regional Counsel to serve as a member of the Bar Advisory Group.
